Fern Hill
Fern Hill is playing at 59E59 Theaters located 59 East 59th Street. It runs two hours with one intermission. The play closes on October 22, 2019.
Vincent (John Glover) and Michiko (Jodi Long) and Darla (Ellen Parker) and Billy (Mark Linn-Baker) are at Jer (Mark Blum) and Sunny (Jill Eikenberry) farm. The couples are celebrating Vincent’s birthday.
Vincent is a full-time painter, Sunny and Darla do it part time. Except for Vincent all are teachers
He is about to have hip replacement and is worried he will die.
Darla’s paintings are in a gallery in Italy but won’t go to the opening so she can take care of Vincent. Sunny tells her to go and take Michiko. The rest of them will take care of him.
The other couple have agreed that they will move in with Sunny and Jar. Jar isn’t happy with the idea.
Vincent has his surgery.
Sunny confronts Jar on his affair.
The other couples try to help by exposing what happened in their marriage.
This is an enjoyable play. Each character has their quirks.
The cast does an outstanding performance.
Mark Linn-Baker shines.
Jessica Parks set is impressive.
