After Play

After Play is playing at the Irish Repertory Theatre located on 132 West 22nd Street. It runs seventy minutes with no intermission. It closes on November 6, 2016.

Dearbhla Molloy was nominated for a Tony Award in 1992 for Dancing at Lughnasa.

The setting is in a Moscow café in the 1920’s.

Sonya (Dearbhla Molloy) is sitting at a tables with papers surrounding her.

Andrey (Dermont Crowley) comes in with food and a violin. He is dressed in tuxedo.

It seems they met the night before. Sonya invites him to join her at her table. Things were said the night before that come out now as not true. For example he does not play the violin in an orchestra but on the street.

This is a short review as the play closes on November 6, 2016.

It is a delightful show worth seeing. I’m glad I did even if it’s near the end of its run.

Both actors were radiant.
