The Jam: Love Terrorists
Daniel J. Watts The Jam: Love Terrorists played at Webster Hall located at 125 East 11th Street on July 31, 2016. The show was for Orlando. The goal was to raise $10,000 to benefit Equality Florida and the GLBT Community.
Divinty Roxx opened the show playing her guitar and singing. She toured and performed with Beyonce Knowles from 2006 to 2011.
Daniel J. Watts starts reading a poem and the goes into hip hop. His backup group is called The Interview. Singing in the group is fellow actor Derrick Baskin. They were both in a play called Whorl Inside the Loop.
The basis for the show is love is the cure. Love has no room for hate!
Three of the numbers were done with performers from Hamilton, On Your Feet and Shuffle Along.
This was a great show from tap dancing, songs, a lesion on how to blow the perfect kiss and so much more.
Daniel J. Watts and Javier Munoz both took turns reading 96 names of people killed in Orlando, police officers and African Americans. They said there were 600 senseless murders committed this year so far.
Everyone did an extraordinary job, especially Daniel J. Watts.
I’d like to see this show done in another larger venue. It has something to say and it was said in a positive way.
